The free forum of decarbXpo presents a unique combination of lectures focused on industrial and commercial decarbonization and storage systems from September 20 - 22, 2022. Topics range from renewable process heat and industrial hydrogen and energy management to net-zero factories. Reduced early bird tickets for the show are now available at www.decarbXpo.de/2130.
Focus on industrial heat and steam
Energy-intensive industries have an enormous potential for decarbonisation in terms of producing heat. The decarbXpo Forum therefore focuses specifically on this topic: EnergyNest will report on 24/7 steam production in a fertiliser plant, the DLR (German Aerospace Center) presents the coupled supply of renewable electricity and heat through power-to-heat systems. This includes high temperature heat storage systems, presented by exhibitor Kraftblock.
Energy management and storage for climate-neutral production
The monitoring and control of energy systems is the topic of another group of presentations. The SMS group presents forward-looking energy management systems which help reduce the carbon footprint, Phoenix Contact demonstrates how monitoring and modular automation can produce a net zero manufacturing plant.
Bridging the gap between smart energy management and battery storage is Fenecon's presentation on reverse peak shaving and second-life use of batteries for electric mobility.
The circular economy as a systematic approach to decarbonisation strategie
Decarbonisation is more than just energy efficiency and a climate-neutral energy supply; it's about minimising the use of resources as well. The presentations by the SMS group and Jenabatteries – a company which offers metal-free flow batteries that save on resources, especially for large industrial customers – focus on circular economics as a possible solution.
Hydrogen from electrolysis to transport
Industrial use of hydrogen is a focal theme at decarbXpo and is also being discussed at the parallel P2X conference by the VDMA and the metal industry's ecoMetals Day. At the forum, the Fraunhofer Institutes UMSICHT (The Fraunhofer Institute for Environmental, Safety and Energy Technology) and IMM (The Fraunhofer Institute for Microengineering and Microsystems) will discuss CO2 electrolysis and transport media for hydrogen, for example methanol, ammonia and synthetic fuels.
"This year, the decarbXpo Forum offers a unique cross section of the central themes within industrial decarbonisation: Heat, energy management, the circular economy and hydrogen all are of central importance for our target industries. Visitors will receive compact, high-quality insights into technologies and possible solutions", says Bernd Jablonowski, Executive Director, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH.
