THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AROUND P2X - FROM VDMA-AG POWER TO X FOR APPLICATIONS

The course for the hydrogen economy has been set. Now it's a matter of translating theory into practice, i.e., realizing and scaling applications and consistently exploiting the opportunities. To do this, the P2X community needs its high-profile, international presence forum for information, exchange, networking and cooperation, the annual conference From Production to application: The #P2X Conference.

P2X is on the verge of industrial market ramp-up. The last R&D gaps are now being closed, framework conditions adapted, processes optimized. Plants are being built, markets are being created, and supply and demand are being coordinated.

Information exchange, networking and cooperation along the value chain are of paramount importance right now. Accordingly, they are the focus of the new annual conference, which also aims to offer the industry an international showcase with direct practical relevance.

From production to application: The #P2X Conference versammelt als echter Branchen­summit alle wichtigen Akteure, die es für den Schritt aus der Theorie in die Praxis braucht. Die Konferenz dient daher in erster Linie weder dem wissenschaftlichen noch dem politischen Austausch, sondern legt den Fokus auf die Praxis und konkrete technische Fragestellungen. Interaktiv- und Frontalformate wechseln sich ab. Mittelfristig werden etwa 300 Teil­nehmer erwartet.

THE CONFERENCE TOPICS

Central topics are electrolysis and other production processes for hydrogen, syntheses for eFuels and power-to-liquid products such as ammonia and methanol, the application in heavy-duty transport, shipping and aviation or in the process industries steel & chemicals, safety-related issues, transport and logistics as well as the technical-economic assessment of entire supply chains and their business cases in a national and international context. The industrial and practical relevance is important, and concrete projects represent a central focus.

TARGET GROUPS

The main target groups of the annual conference From production to application: The #P2X Conference are B-level management and experts from Germany, Europe and possible partner regions, such as the eastern and southern Mediterranean region, the Gulf States, etc.

As a real industry summit this conference gathers all important key stakeholders needed converting theory into practical experience. Thus the conference primarily neither serves the purpose of a scientific nor political exchange, but places its focus on practical experience and specific technical questions. Interactive and frontal formats rotate. In the medium-term approximately 300 participants are expected.

Addressed are in particular:
  • aviation/ climate protection/ electrolysis
  • the transport and traffic sector (water, rail, air, road)
  • the energy sector (production, distribution)
  • the metal, glass, petroleum, chemical, cement and maritime industries
  • plant engineering, plant operation
  • banks and investors
  • associations
  • politics (regional, national, international), authorities, administration, cities and municipalities.
The academic world is also welcome.

THE CONFERENCE ENVIRONMENT

The conference on September 19 - 20, 2022, at CCD Düsseldorf will take place in close temporal and spatial proximity to decarbXpo and the International Renewable Energy Storage Conference (IRES 2022). While decarbXpo, as a trade fair for climate protection, energy transition and decarbonization, networks technology and service providers with industry and commerce, IRES focuses on the current state of research and the framework conditions of energy storage technologies. From Production to Application: The #P2X Conference, with its strong energy and practical focus, complements these two offerings in a targeted manner. In this way, synergies of all three formats are optimally exploited.

THE ORGANIZERS

The VDMA Power-to-X for Applications is behind the idea of an annual international conference From production to application: The #P2X Conference. It is the central, cross-industry information, communication and cooperation platform for the P2X community. It is growing rapidly - it currently has 150+ members - and involves all key stakeholders and players from the development of manufacturing processes to the production of synthetic power and raw materials using Power-to-X technologies to the end user. With its activities, it promotes a holistic, technology-open approach to the transformation of energy systems and raises awareness in politics and the public for environmentally compatible energy use and mobility.

Scientific guidance

The scientific guidance of the conference is in the hands of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Sterner, Professor for Energy Storage at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) Regensburg.
